Occupational Therapist II

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and clients.
About the Role:The Occupational Therapist II will work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide long-term care occupational therapy services. This will include assessment, treatment planning, and implementation, as well as program planning, consultation, equipment prescription, and education of residents/clients/patients and/or their caregivers/staff.
Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to identify their needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide occupational therapy services to clients, including assessment, treatment, and education.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental/program quality assurance initiatives.
- Participate in departmental/program meetings, research, and education.
- Provide work direction to rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team.
- Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
- Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
- Valid BC Driver's license.
- Assessment and Treatment: Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions.
- Teaching: Ability to teach clients and others both one-on-one and in groups.
- Knowledge Integration: Integrates best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions.
- Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff, and the members of the interdisciplinary team using oral, written, and computer communication means.
- Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.
- Human Caring and Relationship Centered Practice: Ability to promote client-focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant other, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, client advocacy, and social justice systems.
- Management: Demonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives, and establish priorities.
- Leadership: Promotes staff morale, engagement, and risk-taking.
- Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and a commitment to excellence in the provision of client care.
- Equipment: Demonstrated computer skills, including the use of Meditech and Windows-based programs, data analysis skills, and ability to operate other related equipment as required in the specific practice area.
