Job Overview

BMO is actively seeking a Project Manager for a contract role.

This position entails overseeing and guiding IT initiatives that have been authorized by the Accountable Executive. Responsibilities encompass (but are not limited to) the introduction of new products and services, extensive application development, systems integration, business acquisition and assimilation, enhancements in operational efficiency, process reengineering, and upgrades and deployment of infrastructure. These strategic initiatives are typically intricate and large-scale, often spanning various functions and/or business units. The Senior Project Manager maintains the primary project relationship with senior executives, ensuring that successful business outcomes are the primary indicators of success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading team members from both business and technology sectors
  • Understanding and negotiating task timelines and work assignments to prioritize actions
  • Detailing tasks and managing schedules ranging from 6 to 18 months
  • Conducting follow-ups with team members on their assignments
  • Tracking issues and escalating when necessary
  • Maintaining a strategic perspective on project lifecycles and comprehending process and business intricacies
  • Experience with standard data center and cloud-based infrastructure development is advantageous
  • Understanding of Finance, Enterprise Risk, and Capital Markets is beneficial
  • Ability to think critically and articulate the rationale behind BMO's actions clearly
  • Creating MS Project schedules
  • Presenting and negotiating with CIO-level stakeholders
  • Having a background in project management for over a year
  • Possessing a blend of business acumen and technological insight
  • Making informed decisions within the governance framework

Qualifications:

  • Project Management: 5 years (Required)
  • Cloud Migration: 5 years (Required)
  • Stakeholder Engagement at the CIO Level: 5 years (Required)
  • MS Project Scheduling: 5 years (Required)
  • Banking Experience: 5 years (Required)
  • Enterprise Risk Experience: 5 years (Desired)
