Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laborer to join our team at American Iron and Metal. As a Laborer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our recycling yard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sorting and Processing: Sort, pick, and process scrap metals in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Yard Maintenance: Clean and inspect the recycling yard by sweeping and raking materials and debris.
  • Maintenance Support: Assist with performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of our equipment and facilities.
  • General Labourer Duties: Perform other general labourer duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience is required in a general labourer role.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the metal scrap industry will be considered as an asset.
  • Mechanical Skills: Experience in using machines like Lift Truck / Forklift, Skid steer will be considered as an asset.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Work Ethic: Successful candidates must be highly motivated and work with little supervision.
  • Continuous Improvement: Always strive for excellence and constant improvement.

Hours of Work:

  • Permanent Full-Time Position: Permanent full-time position.
  • Hours of Work: 44 hours per week, able to work extended hours/weekends when deemed necessary.
