Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Operations Manager to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of direct patient/resident care at our Regional Hospitals after hours, on weekends and/or as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate the delivery of direct patient/resident care, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
  • Direct and supervise Patient Care Coordinators and/or Charge Nurses, providing guidance and support to ensure effective patient/resident care.
  • Assess and improve patient/resident placement, patient flow, and bed utilization, making recommendations for process improvements.
  • Liaise with the Access Coordinator and BC Bedline to facilitate patient/resident transfers, ensuring seamless care transitions.
  • Collaborate with medical and clinical healthcare providers, management, and administrative personnel to address customer service/client relations issues.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, promoting a culture of respect, caring, and trust.
  • Investigate and resolve staff issues, ensuring compliance with collective agreement provisions and hospital policies.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, procedures, protocols, and standards related to patient care.
  • Identify quality improvement opportunities and promote continuous quality improvement activities, utilizing and promoting nursing research to ensure patient care is based on best practices.
  • Promote and monitor safe work practices, enforcing health and safety requirements and ensuring unsafe situations are reported and addressed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an approved School of Nursing.
  • Five (5) years' recent, relevant, acute care experience, including a minimum of two (2) years' experience in a supervisory and/or administrative capacity.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in a continuously changing environment.
  • Ability to supervise, lead, and provide work direction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills, problem solve, and deal with conflict situations.
