Position Overview

Under the general oversight of the Charge Medical Technologist or their delegate, the General Duty Medical Technologist (Cross Trained) executes assigned responsibilities in alignment with their training and expertise, adhering to established protocols. The individual delivers direct patient/resident care and provides the necessary technical, administrative, and operational support functions as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team approach to service delivery, along with other assigned tasks. The incumbent will ensure a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial standards and uphold compliance with quality assurance programs while maintaining the standards set forth by Accreditation.

Experience

  • Prior relevant experience is preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiography program with certification from CAMRT - OR.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program with certification from CSMLS.
  • Graduate of an accredited Laboratory or Radiology Assistant Program.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program, eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) and registration with C.A.M.R.T. within three months of employment.
  • Must maintain current licensing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient in a Windows computer environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the capacity to foster and maintain positive working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team setting and with external agencies, groups, and the public.
  • Analytical skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all information entrusted to the position.
  • Fluency in both French and English may be required.
  • Capability to perform duties as outlined.
