Job Summary

Lumacare is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Program Director to lead our team in delivering exceptional client-centered care. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development
    • Design and deliver recreation, social, and exercise programs that cater to the diverse needs of our clients
    • Collaborate with program staff, students, and volunteers to ensure seamless program execution
    • Conduct program evaluations to assess effectiveness and inform future programming
  • Client Services
    • Create personalized care plans for clients, taking into account their unique needs and goals
    • Develop and implement programs that promote engagement, recreation, and socialization among clients
    • Conduct leisure assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted interventions
    • Motivate and support clients to achieve their full potential
  • Administration
    • Manage program schedules, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services
    • Update client progress and maintain accurate records
    • Oversee inventory management and equipment maintenance
    • Participate in internal committees to drive agency initiatives and improve services
Requirements
  • Diploma or certificate in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with older adults with mental health diagnoses
  • Strong understanding of program planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation skills
  • Standard CPR and First Aid certification
  • Immunizations for tuberculosis, varicella, mumps, and hepatitis B
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police check
