Role Summary: The position entails overseeing intricate planning tasks related to equipment configurations within manufacturing, administrative, and production environments. The objective is to optimize the use of facilities, machinery, materials, and workforce to enhance operational efficiency through the following responsibilities:
- Focus on effective systems, cleanliness, and professional conduct.
- Deliver knowledge-driven solutions and services aimed at boosting customer performance.
- Engage in value creation alongside Business Development and Engineering teams.
- Design process machinery, facilities, components, and systems dedicated to metal recovery, enhancement, and aggregate production.
- Coordinate operational and maintenance support for systems in field installations.
- Utilize computer-aided engineering and design software to execute engineering tasks.
- Prepare economic justifications and capital expenditure summaries for all initiatives.
- Provide project management and field engineering services on-site.
- Supervise skilled tradespeople during the installation and modification of stationary equipment.
- Oversee the installation of plants, machinery, and ancillary equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop initial plans adhering to established engineering standards and relevant building codes.
- Assess processing equipment performance against acceptable applications and repair & maintenance costs.
- Review and approve all bids for plant components and installation contracts.
- Estimate and summarize costs related to projects, plants, equipment, and installations.
- Gain familiarity with PLC controllers.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in engineering or related fields.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an engineering department within a manufacturing or production services environment, with responsibilities for design, safety, performance, and economic aspects of fixed facilities planning and development.
- Proficient in AutoCAD software.
- Willingness to travel to various plant sites.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Fluency in French Canadian.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and design criteria.
- Strong analytical and technical abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated project management and interpersonal capabilities.
