Product Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Manager to join our team at Canadian Solar. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for leading the development of our energy storage solutions, including inverters and battery systems.
Key Responsibilities- Product Roadmap Development: Develop and maintain product roadmaps for our energy storage solutions, including inverters and battery systems.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for our energy storage solutions.
- Supplier Validation: Perform technical due diligence of equipment as part of the supplier validation process, including acceptance tests of the products.
- Product Development: Develop BESS NPV and energy density models, quantifiable risk and margin models, and flexible capacity models.
- Business Development Support: Manage elements of the existing and future US and Americas product portfolio and its life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
- Market Requirements: Research, analyze, and draft market requirements for existing and new products by communicating with customers and sales teams.
- Product Launch: Work with the marketing team to launch and communicate new products and their features and measure the introduction and sales success of existing and new products.
- Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline; minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering and/or product development in inverters or the energy storage industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of power electronics and battery technologies, ability to convincingly and effectively communicate with customers, independent engineers, laboratories, industry working groups, and regulatory authorities.
- Soft Skills: Excellent social and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, both locally and across multiple time zones and different cultures.
