Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and industrious Construction Operative to contribute to our expanding operations. This role offers opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

Education Requirements

No formal education, degree, or diploma is necessary for this position.

Certifications

While not mandatory, certifications such as the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), and Fall Arrest Protection Training Course are considered beneficial.

Experience

We provide training for all new hires, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enter the construction field.

Key Responsibilities

- Clear rubble and debris from construction sites.
- Mix, pour, and distribute materials effectively.
- Load, unload, and transport construction supplies.
- Assist in the demolition of structures.
- Support framing activities, including erecting walls.
- Clean and organize salvaged materials.
- Manage cleanup of chemical spills and contaminants.

Equipment Proficiency

Familiarity with tools such as drills, reciprocating saws, and circular saws is advantageous.

Construction Focus

Experience in residential, industrial, commercial, and institutional projects is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to handle weights up to 23Kg (50lbs).

Safety and Security

Candidates must be bondable and willing to undergo a driving record check and a criminal record check.

Tools and Equipment

Required personal safety gear includes steel-toed safety boots and safety glasses or goggles.

Work Environment

Candidates should be comfortable working in confined spaces, outdoors, and at heights.

Transportation Requirements

Reliable transportation is necessary, as public transport options may be limited.

Work Conditions

The role involves a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks and physically demanding duties.

Job Type

This is a full-time, permanent position.

Schedule

- Monday to Friday
- On-call availability may be required.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in construction (1 year preferred) is advantageous.
