Charter Driver – Part-Time Position
Location: Calgary, AB
As a part-time Charter Coach Driver, you will be entrusted with the safe transportation of clients while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication abilities, both verbal and written, ensuring effective interaction with fellow drivers, maintenance teams, operations staff, and the public.
This role guarantees a minimum of 20 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours during peak seasons. Shifts may vary, including days, evenings, weekends, and overnight assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute assigned charters efficiently
- Verify charter waybill details prior to departure
- Drive with safety and responsibility, adapting to various road conditions
- Adhere to Hours of Service regulations
- Manage workload effectively, ensuring clarity on charter specifics
- Conduct pre-and-post trip inspections of the vehicle
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately
- Maintain communication with dispatch and follow proper radio protocols
- Address passenger behavior proactively to ensure a pleasant journey
- Report to dispatch on schedule, ready for service
- Refuel the bus as needed, utilizing assigned fuel cards
- Keep the bus clean and well-maintained
- Submit Daily Vehicle Condition Reports (DVCRs)
- Assist Operations or Maintenance with vehicle drop-offs or pickups as required
- Support school runs when necessary
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Class 1 or 2 driver's license preferred; training for license upgrades available
- Willingness to obtain Q Endorsement
- Experience with various vehicle types, including transit, coach, and school buses; training provided
- Demonstrated organization, punctuality, and reliability
- Positive team player with a cooperative attitude
- Calm and approachable demeanor
- Excellent driving skills and habits
- Proficient in map reading
- Familiarity with local attractions and venues
- Strong communication skills with all stakeholders
- Commitment to outstanding customer service
Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour
