About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a graduate degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, Sonography Canada certification, and Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure. A minimum of one year of clinical experience is preferred, with experience in a tertiary care setting and with Philips IE 33, Epiq 7, and Xcelera Workstations being an asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Echo ultrasound examinations as requested in accordance with departmental standards and techniques.
  • Work alongside physicians to assess patients and their conditions.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in echocardiography.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $39.96, with the possibility of a Market Adjustment of approximately $0.23 biweekly. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Working Conditions

This is a long-term assignment, full-time position with 75 hours biweekly. Shift work is required, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
