About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Sonography Canada certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Current BLS certification
  • A minimum of one year clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary care setting
  • Experience in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, TEE, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Exercise Stress Echo, and Research Echo is an asset
  • Experience with Philips IE 33, Epiq 7, and Xcelera Workstations is an asset
  • Experience with General Electric Vivid E95 is an asset
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Echo ultrasound examinations as requested in accordance with departmental standards and techniques
  • Work alongside physicians to assess patients and their conditions
  • Contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions
Working Conditions

This is a long-assignment full-time position, requiring 75 hours biweekly. Shift work, including evenings, nights, and weekends, is required.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $39.96, with eligibility for a Market Adjustment of approximately $369.23 biweekly. Additionally, they may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
