Faculty Member

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Faculty Member to join our School of Trades and Transportation team. As a Faculty Member, you will be responsible for providing theoretical and practical instruction in the Metal Fabrication program.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver educational experiences for a diverse group of learners, including preparation, instruction, assessment, and evaluation of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, and participate in program marketing and promotion.
- Ensure health and safety practices and procedures are followed in the classroom, shops, and labs.
- Maintain currency with the latest industry practices relevant to the program and develop expertise in 21st-century teaching and learning practices.
- Participate in academic and career advisement, committee work, and other related duties.
- Minimum educational qualification: Inter-provincial Journeyperson Certification as a Metal Fabricator (Fitter).
- Minimum of five years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in the Metal Fabrication industry.
- Specific technical occupational knowledge and skill in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW, and steel fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with and comfort using computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, email, and MS Teams.
- Demonstrated experience liaising with business and industry in the field.
- Comfortable working in a digital environment and committed to using technology to support an exceptional student experience.
- Related experience in delivery of educational programs or training to adults.
- Occupational experience that includes experience in providing performance feedback.
- Knowledge and experience in applying WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and occupation-specific safety practices.
