Injury Prevention Specialist

The Injury Prevention Consultant plays a vital role in identifying and mitigating risks related to injuries within Nova Scotia Health. This position requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to implement effective programs to reduce employee injuries.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled professional with a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy. Additional training in areas such as Falls Prevention, Pressure Ulcer Prevention, Disability Management, and Psychological Health and Safety is an asset. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience working in a physical medicine or physical rehabilitation environment and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to prevent injuries
- Collaborate with departments and clinical teams to implement injury prevention programs
- Provide expert services and act as a resource to assist in assessment and identification of department/unit/staff needs
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders
Nova Scotia Health offers a competitive salary of $44.09 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
