Service Controls Specialist

At Carrier, we're seeking a skilled Service Controls Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you'll be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of building automation control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Adhere to all safety standards and promote a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and meeting regularly with customers to become familiar with their facility operations.
- Identify and communicate outstanding issues, recommending system enhancements, upgrades, and repairs, and working with the service team to engineer and estimate solutions.
- Perform system maintenance in accordance with established service practices and direction, maintaining feedback on equipment scheduling and modifications needed to the service team and their supervisor.
- Manage assigned work to meet professional execution of time and customer satisfaction, reporting issues or changes to management immediately in accordance with company policy and practices.
- May provide training to customers on their specific control systems operations, delivering documentation as needed or as contractual obligations require.
- Follow established learning paths and conduct extensive self-study to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company product lines, completing certifications as required.
- Complete all job-required documentation on-time, including time sheets, expense reports, posting of work orders, on-site documentation, and project status reports in accordance with company policy.
- Diploma or degree from a recognized college or university in building HVAC with a focus on building automation controls (3- or 4-year program) or a High School diploma and 3+ years in HVAC building automation controls.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the HVAC controls industry.
- Possess and maintain a valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier.
- Willingness to travel in excess of 75% of the typical work week, including air travel, overnight hotel stays, unexpected travel, and participation in rotating on-call schedules.
- Ability to climb ladders or use other lift equipment more than 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work alone and communicate effectively with customers.
- Knowledge and understanding of systems software to read, test, and make changes to logic as needed.
- Ability to download and troubleshoot basic HVAC system logic using WebCTRL and associated software.
- Good understanding of troubleshooting methods and practices.
- Entry-level working knowledge with WebCTRL software functions and utilities.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networks, including wireless technologies.
- Ability to read and understand Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical blueprints.
- Basic experience with Microsoft software products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Windows products.
- Possess computer and networking skills to properly maintain their laptops and mobile devices.
- Possess a good understanding of the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences.
- Experience in dealing with several simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of many different disciplines.
- A true team player who has the customer's best interests first and foremost.
