{"About the Opportunity": "As a key member of the Squamish Nation Rights and Title Department, this position plays a vital role in monitoring the construction of the Woodfibre LNG site at Swiyat. Working closely with the FortisBC environmental inspection team, the Lead Indigenous Monitor will observe construction activities, discuss concerns, and find solutions. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities include:

* Monitoring construction activities and reporting any concerns to the FortisBC environmental inspection team
* Collaborating with the FortisBC environmental inspection team to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
* Coordinating with the Indigenous Monitors and communicating with the FortisBC Environmental Inspection Team
* Providing support to the Senior Regulatory Specialist - Rights and Title

Requirements:

* Self-motivated and autonomous with excellent communication and time management skills
* Strong interpersonal skills, including leadership, team-oriented, energetic, self-motivated, creative, patient, persistent, tactful, and conscientious
* Experience with standard monitoring requirements and processes would be an asset
* Good time management skills and ability to perform duties responsibly
* High level of emotional intelligence, patience, and integrity
* Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Field Maps
* Ability to communicate with external stakeholders, including construction personnel and environmental or archaeological consultants
* Leadership experience managing teams
* Ability and interest to work outdoors on uneven terrain
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Experience and/or interest in environmental and cultural monitoring
* Exposure to industrial projects and knowledge of Squamish Nation land and culture
