Mechanical Construction Project Leader
Our client, a prominent multi-trade contractor and manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Construction Project Leader to join their team in a full-time, permanent capacity.

This role is pivotal in overseeing the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives and commitments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure safety on site at all times, adhering to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and COR Requirements.
• Lead and coordinate all site health and safety protocols, including job site inspections, safety discussions, PPE requirements, health and safety plans, and accident protocols.
• Manage the entire construction process, ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations.
• Develop, execute, and adjust work plans for assigned projects within the mechanical division to meet evolving needs.
• Organize and supervise site personnel, trades, and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
• Review construction plans for adherence to applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC standards.
• Monitor project timelines and plan tasks to meet deadlines and milestones.
• Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are secured for project progression.
• Provide ongoing monitoring and reporting on project progress to all stakeholders.
• Uphold quality standards for work and materials throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee compliance with specifications, local codes, and installation techniques.
• Ensure subcontractors are fully briefed on project expectations prior to commencement.
• Communicate safe work procedures and compliance with company-wide safety policies to subcontractors.
• Ensure submission of testing, startup, and field-level reports.

Qualifications:
• Relevant diploma, degree, or trade license (e.g., Millwright, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Gas Fitter) in Mechanical Engineering.
• PMP designation or related courses in construction project management are advantageous.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical construction project coordination/management, including contracts, costing, planning, and scheduling.
• Trade experience (e.g., Steamfitter, Gasfitter, Welder, Plumber) is beneficial.
• Valid Ontario Driver's License (G License) is required.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable union contracts and provincial health and safety regulations.
• Proven track record of successfully completed projects on time and within budget.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Project, and Word) and familiar with standard forms of contracts.
• Ability to read and interpret construction/engineering drawings and schematics.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as necessary.
