Our ApproachWe take a trauma-informed approach, incorporating Two-Eyed Seeing, Harm Reduction Practice, Youth/Person Centered Practice, and Culture as Therapy. Our team is dedicated to creating a safe and accessible environment that promotes meaningful youth engagement and fosters positive outcomes.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a Relief Youth Care Counsellor (YCC) to join our team. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with others to plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate workshops and daily programming in our drop-in programs. This role requires a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and traditions, as well as experience working with Indigenous youth and community organizations.

- Create a safe space for all youth and staff by responding to behaviors and situations through a trauma-informed lens.
- Provide general information regarding UNYA, its mandate, programs, and services, and respond promptly and effectively to enquiries.
- Make referrals to specific UNYA and community programs and services as appropriate to serve the needs of youth and families.
- Work as part of a team to maintain a network of positive working relationships with other service providers.
