Job Summary:

Atomic Cartoons is seeking a skilled CG Modeling Artist to join our team for a short-term contract. As a CG Modeling Artist, you will be responsible for creating high-quality 3D models from scratch, meeting technical and aesthetic standards for our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create show-style models from scratch, adhering to project requirements and deadlines.
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision, to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Look Development Team to ensure models integrate seamlessly with the Look Development pipeline.
  • Communicate effectively with the Riggers to ensure models work smoothly within the Rigging pipeline.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues arising in pre-production and shot production.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Maya, Zbrush, and/or Mudbox.
  • Ability to create complex and accurate models from 2D reference or scan data.
  • Strong understanding of clean line flow, organix, and hard surface models, with a basic understanding of environments.
  • Background in visual arts/design, with a strong understanding of form, geometry, and movement.
  • Excellent visual skills and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work.
  • Industry experience in Animation and/or Visual Effects is an asset.
  • Knowledge of texturing/shading, rendering, or rigging is an asset.
  • Linux operating system experience is an asset.
  • Experience with Python scripting is an asset.
  • Experience using Shotgun for production tracking, submitting, and publishing is an asset.
  • Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.
