Job Description

Condor Properties is a leading Commercial/Industrial Property Management firm in Vaughan, seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant to join our Accounting Team. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Property Accountant is responsible for a specific portfolio of properties with the following key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Reconciliation of bank statements, mortgages, loans, and monthly journal entries.
  2. Prepare and report monthly HST.
  3. Prepare and process Tenant CAM/TAX recovery reconciliations annually.
  4. Investigate and validate recovery rules in tenant leases.
  5. Verify code and ensure processing of accounts payable, once authorized by property manager and review payments for accuracy before submission to Management for signatures.
  6. Ensure correct chargeback such as utilities to tenants.
  7. Prepare intercompany billings for commission, Management Fees, and Maintenance Wages.
  8. Prepare and submit annual MPAC financial reporting requirement, vacancy rebates.
  9. Prepare and submit quarterly survey of financial statements required by Statistic Canada.
  10. Prepare yearend audit working papers and liaison with auditors.
  11. Prepare various accounting reports and analysis as requested.
  12. Prepare audited and unaudited financial statements for internal and external users.
  13. Prepare and review annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  14. Support property management personnel in financial accounting matters.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements:
  1. College diploma or University degree is required.
  2. Auditing experience is a huge asset.
  3. Accounting designation in CPA, CMA/CGA is an asset.
  4. Minimum 3 years full cycle accounting experience in the commercial/industrial Property Management field.
  5. Strong systems skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) are required.
  6. Detail-oriented with superior analytical and communications skills.
  7. Yardi experience is a huge asset.
