Laboratory Information Systems Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Information Systems Coordinator to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and maintaining assigned areas of the lab information systems across our network.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and implement laboratory information systems across our network, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with other LIS Coordinators, IMITS teams, vendors, and laboratory staff to ensure effective communication and problem-solving.
- Develop and maintain procedures and manuals for laboratory information systems, including downtime procedures.
- Investigate and correct laboratory system errors and run appropriate test programs.
- Coordinate the maintenance of databases for the laboratory information systems, ensuring comprehensive and congruent output.
- Develop and maintain reports for management purposes, working with the Information Management department and consulting end users regarding report formats.
- Maintain the inventory of hardware and software used in the laboratory information systems.
- Graduation from a recognized school of Medical Lab Science and Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) certification.
- Three (3) years of experience as a Laboratory Technologist, plus two (2) years of recent, related experience in the coordination, implementation, and maintenance of laboratory information systems.
- Degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, knowledge of Meditech Information Systems supplemented with courses in communications and/or customer service, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong project management skills, ability to deal with others effectively, and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
