Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Kerrisdale PSC. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in the specimen collection process, ensuring the highest quality of patient care and service.
Responsibilities- Greet patients, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure they follow necessary test protocols.
- Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
- Collect special test specimens, complete related documentation, and maintain client relationships.
- Enter patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant data.
- Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent experience.
- ECG training or experience is an asset.
- Proficient data entry skills and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and effectively relate to patients and healthcare providers.
