As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our hospital's mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services.

Job Summary:

The Registered Orthopaedic Technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to orthopaedic care, including splinting, casting, and dressing applications. You will work closely with our orthopaedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform splinting, casting, and dressing applications for patients with orthopaedic conditions
  • Assist orthopaedic surgeons with procedures, including wound care, aspirations, and minor surgical procedures
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' conditions and develop orthopaedic care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Process physician orders for diagnostics and results
  • Document patient care provided in the medical record
  • Provide education to patients and families on orthopaedic treatments and discharge instructions
  • Maintain inventory of orthopaedic supplies and devices
  • Ensure a safe working environment and report any health and safety concerns
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a recognized Orthopaedic Technologist program
  • Current registration with the Canadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists (CSOT)
  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience as an Orthopaedic Technologist
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
