Orthopedic Technologist Position in North Toronto

We are seeking a skilled Orthopedic Technologist to join our team at Humber River Health in North Toronto.
About the JobThis is a part-time temporary position, and we are looking for someone with a strong work ethic who can provide excellent patient care. As an Orthopedic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing interventions focused on splint/cast and dressings/bandages application, windowing/wedging casts, trimming, bi-valving casts, bandages, and splints, removal/repair/re-enforce casts, and more.
You will also assist physicians on inpatient units and the plastics clinic with orthopedic procedures, including wound care, aspirations, minor surgical procedures, and fracture reductions. Your comprehensive assessment of patients' conditions will enable you to develop an orthopedic care plan in collaboration with the family and the interdisciplinary health care team.
Requirements- A graduate of a recognized Orthopaedic Technologist Programme sanctioned by the CSOT or equivalent experience
- Current registration by the Canadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists (CSOT)
- Current BCLS
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience as an Orthopaedic Technologist
- Knowledge/Understanding of anatomical structures and relationships, orthopaedic conditions/injuries, casting, skin, skeletal, and manual traction, aseptic technique, and more
- Demonstrated abilities to interpret simple fractures and dislocations on x-ray film, excellent customer service, time management, organization skills, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work independently and within a team environment
