Job Summary

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a qualified sessional lecturer to teach the STSS Personal and Academic Success Strategies course in Fall 2024.

Course Description

Students will learn essential methodologies and strategies for ongoing academic success and a healthy university/life balance. Topics covered include time management, learning styles, reading strategies, test taking, communication, diversity, group dynamics, and money management.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Applicants must have a degree in a relevant field, including a number of courses in the topic, required.
  • Teaching Certificate, or Instructor's Diploma, or 5 years teaching experience plus evidence of engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning is required.
  • Experience teaching students with diverse educational, social, and economic backgrounds is required.
  • Skills in building intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect are preferred.
  • Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods is preferred.
  • Teaching excellence, including developing culturally appropriate curricula, is preferred.
