Position Overview:
The incumbent will operate under the general oversight of the Manager (or designate) to deliver therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and educational respiratory therapy services. These services will align with professional standards and the organization's mission, values, and management philosophy.
Experience:- Preferred candidates will have recent and relevant clinical experience.
- A recognized entry-level academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian institution or a MARRT approved equivalent for internationally educated candidates is mandatory.
- Current registration with the MARRT is essential.
- Membership in the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) is advantageous.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training must comply with the Employer's policy.
- Preference will be given to applicants with proficiency in an Indigenous language and/or familiarity with Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
- Ability to foster and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Must collaborate well with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative.
- Understanding of the physiological, social, cultural, and economic factors influencing patient care.
- Ability to organize and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to embrace new concepts, techniques, and best practices in both academic and clinical healthcare settings.
- Proficiency in computer use, including office productivity and email software.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity are necessary.
- Capability to stand, walk, and perform manual ventilation for extended periods.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
- Capacity to lift heavy medical equipment, including measuring devices and gas cylinders.
- Ability to maneuver wheeled medical equipment.
- May be required to work varied shifts, including weekends.
- Exposure to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, and other potential hazards may occur.
- Ability to assist with the positioning of clients as needed.
