About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at Groupe Colas Quebec Inc - Ouest. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits to identify potential hazards and provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to develop and implement training programs on health and safety best practices.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders to stay up-to-date on changing regulations and standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on health and safety matters, including conducting workplace inspections and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain health and safety records, including incident reports, training records, and compliance documentation.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as occupational health and safety, industrial relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to health and safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various work sites.
