Position Overview
- Under the direction of the Fleet Supervisor, this role is accountable for the upkeep of municipal vehicles and machinery, performing inspections, maintenance tasks, and thorough documentation.
- Delivers mobile repair services for various vehicles and equipment.
- Ensures the workshop is maintained in a clean and safe condition.
- Operates assigned vehicles and machinery as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts preventative maintenance and repairs on municipal vehicles and machinery.
- Performs safety inspections in accordance with established regulations.
- Manages seasonal equipment storage and preparation.
- Executes repairs based on compliance with legislation and manufacturer guidelines.
- Inspects and maintains workshop tools and equipment.
- Provides roadside assistance and repairs as needed.
- Compiles accurate reports and maintains repair records.
- Engages in advanced training opportunities when available.
- Operates with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Truck and Coach Technician (310T) certification is required.
- Experience in the repair and maintenance of marine vessels and engines is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of vehicle systems is essential.
- A minimum of three years' experience in heavy truck maintenance is required.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle diagnostic equipment is necessary.
- Capability to operate various types of machinery.
- Willingness to work overtime and respond to urgent situations.
- Valid Class 'D' Ontario Driver's License with 'Z' endorsement is mandatory.
