Job Summary

The Distribution Sales Associate is a key role within our organization, responsible for providing sales coverage to an assigned territory and focusing on wholesale distributor branch locations and accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Onboard and introduce new products to assigned wholesale distributor branch locations, ensuring seamless integration and effective sales strategies.
  • Accountable for product trainings, demonstrations, counter days, trade shows, and lead generation/management, driving sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Generate and collect leads from counter days, tradeshows, branch staff engagement, or other sources, passing them over to Regional Sales Reps and District Sales Managers for follow-up and conversion.
  • Maintain healthy inventories on all current product groups, collaborating with wholesale distributors to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize stockouts.
  • Utilize CRM Mobile Sales daily activity calendars to track information, including sales opportunities, sales call activities, customer links, and calendar updates, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Provide support to cross-functional teams as needed, contributing to the adoption of EDI and VMI by Distributors within the District and Regions.
  • Execute regional and corporate objectives, maintaining monthly sales reports and business metrics, identifying business opportunities, and reporting on trends and new products.
  • Secure new business relationships and support current customers, driving market growth for contractors and distributors.
  • Responsibility for maintaining accurate reporting and metrics, ensuring data integrity and compliance.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and relationship building skills, with excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, and public speaking.
  • Self-motivated, able to function autonomously and as a team player, with the ability to interpret and forecast changes in wholesale distributor buying patterns and product requirements.
  • Ability to give presentations in front of various groups, communicate with multiple levels within an organization, and perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP, and CRM, with a college or university degree required and 0-1 years product sales experience preferred.
