Job Title: Accounts Payable Supervisor

FortisBC is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to our accounts payable function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and ensure the efficient processing of accounts payable transactions, including invoices and payments.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate controls and legislative requirements.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Lead initiatives to improve processes and procedures, and implement changes to enhance internal controls and efficiency.
  • Prepare and review financial accounting transactions and activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Business or Commerce with a minimum of four years' related experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices in accounts payable and financial accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply superior judgment, strategic thinking, and innovative problem-solving.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills to motivate and develop employees.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
