Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeper / Janitor to join our team at Sodexo Canada Ltd. As a key member of our Accommodations team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all environmental tasks with a focus on service orientation to fellow employees, client staff, and customers.
  • Interact effectively with facility staff, patients, residents, or visitors.
  • Perform basic cleaning functions in assigned areas, following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
  • Dust horizontal surfaces, empty waste baskets and recycling, and replenish room supplies.
  • Clean and polish metal and porcelain fixtures in the bathroom, spot clean walls and windows, and polish metal surfaces.
  • Vacuum, perform discharge duties, and change linen and transport to assigned areas.
  • Perform heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas, following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
  • Dust and wet mop floors, scrub or buff floors with the appropriate equipment, and vacuum and shampoo carpets for cleaning and bacterial control.
  • Dispose of biohazard and chemical waste in a prescribed method, clean light fixtures and fittings, and maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness.
  • Recommend repairs as needed and perform all other tasks assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum grade 10 education.
  • Building Services Certificate.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience.
  • English proficiency, verbal and written, to allow safe performance of the job.
  • Pass physical exam as required by client.
  • Clearance for criminal record check.
  • Ability to stand for 8.0 hours, lift, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach.
