We are seeking a highly skilled Project Financial Analyst to join our team at Seaspan ULC. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting the Victoria Shipyards Finance team in understanding project financials.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support business decisions, including project profit and loss, variance analysis, and financial impacts of contract terms and conditions.
- Financial Reporting: Develop and maintain accurate financial reports, including project revenue forecasts, cash forecasts, and ad-hoc reports as needed.
- Process Improvement: Drive process improvement initiatives that impact the finance function, including developing and maintaining detailed process and procedure documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the project team to build, maintain, and present accurate Estimate to Complete (EAC) and understand the financial impacts of all project activity.
- Communication: Provide clear and concise financial information and support for recommendations and decisions to stakeholders.
- Education: Undergraduate degree in Business or Finance.
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience with minimum 3 years' experience in operational/project role.
- Skills: Advanced knowledge of Excel, proficient in other MS Office tools, and experience in project accounting and firm knowledge of IFRS and ASPE in regard to revenue recognition.
- Certifications: PMI certification such as PMP or CAPM, or enrollment in a PMI certification program is considered an asset.
