Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Millwright to join our team at the City of North Bay's Infrastructure and Operations Division. As a key member of our Water and Wastewater Facilities team, you will be responsible for performing mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure the efficient operation of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to mechanical and electrical equipment, including pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless operation of our facilities and equipment.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members.
Requirements
  • Certification as an Industrial Millwright in Ontario.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in mechanical and electrical repairs operations.
  • Knowledge of operating standards, practices, and procedures for water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Ability to provide and apply practical problem-solving skills.
  • Must hold or obtain MOE OIT within 3 months of hire and is required to achieve Water and Wastewater Treatment and Distribution Level I certification.
  • Computer skills/knowledge for process control and data entry; record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to perform manual labor.
  • Must be Available for On-Call Rotation and Emergency Work.
  • Must possess a valid Ontario Class "G" driver's license.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent full-time position with a competitive hourly rate of $32.22 per hour, with opportunities for overtime.
