Job Title: Clinical Service Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Service Leader to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Clinical Service Leader, you will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of respiratory therapy services in a large complex environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise and manage the daily clinical service delivery and environmental/operational issues in the designated service area.
  2. Provide guidance and leadership to respiratory therapists and support staff through clinical mentoring, supervision, education, evaluation, and research.
  3. Contribute to the delivery of quality respiratory therapy services by examining, developing, refining, and evaluating the body of knowledge and clinical practices.
  4. Assist with performance appraisals, recruitment, and coordination of clinical work schedules, caseloads, and service rotations.
  5. Maintain a partial clinical caseload, including Respiratory Therapy assessment, interventions, and follow-up within established standards of care.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years recent, relevant Respiratory Therapy experience in a large complex environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT approved equivalent, if internationally educated.
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or another field of study with a relevant major.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods without resting.
  • Must demonstrate safe and effective body mechanics while working with clients.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity are required.
  • Ability to stand and walk and perform manual ventilation with one or both hands for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to run to emergencies.
  • Ability to lift heavy medical equipment, including measuring devices, monitors, and gas cylinders.
  • Ability to push wheeled medical equipment.
  • Ability to move gas cylinders and assist with client positioning.
