We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Early Childhood and Kindergarten Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate the development, implementation, and monitoring of early learning opportunities in the Northwest Territories.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate the development, implementation, and monitoring of early learning opportunities, including Junior Kindergarten (JK) and Kindergarten (K) programming.
- Develop and implement projects that support early learning initiatives, as identified in federal agreements and related to the transformation of the Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) system in the Northwest Territories.
- Contribute to the department and ELCC divisional goals by supporting access to quality, affordable, inclusive ELCC programming throughout the Northwest Territories.
- Provide professional learning opportunities to early childhood educators within licensed ELCC programs and the public education system.
- Work in an environment where there are political and public expectations, requiring expertise to deal with highly sensitive situations that are time-sensitive.
- Typically requires a degree in early childhood education and three (3) years of experience working in early learning environments, including one (1) year of experience in a school setting working with curriculum development and/or providing professional learning to educators.
