The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team. As a top-level position, this role will perform project lead duties and work independently on various projects as assigned. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring project deadlines are met, client satisfaction is maintained, and projects are financially successful.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned projects through the municipal design approval process as the Engineer-of-Record.
  • Direct involvement in the detailed engineering design process, guiding technical support staff as needed to ensure completion of design objectives, approvals, and documents.
  • Exercise judgment on the appropriateness of engineering requirements identified by municipal jurisdictions.
  • Attend meetings with clients, contractors, and municipal staff, making notes and records of outcomes for project record purposes.
  • Meet project milestone events in accordance with client and municipal deadlines.
  • Track project progress and obtain authorizations/approvals for changes in schedule/scope.
  • Contract Administration and Management.
  • Responsible for aspects of project management, including budget tracking, invoicing, and accounts receivables.
  • Provide mentorship and evaluation of junior staff.
  • Operate across various functional levels related to assigned projects.
  • Have overall technical and financial responsibility for a portfolio of land development or capital works projects.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all aspects of the land development industry or municipal field and be a recognized expert in the industry.
  • Be a key technical resource for the organization and other staff.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of local experience in design of land development or capital works projects.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on several different projects.
  • Consistently produce accurate, high-quality work.
