About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a skilled Field Services Representative II to join our dynamic Equipment & Automation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support for the installation, validation, maintenance, and repair of equipment at our facilities.

This is a senior role that requires superior problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our equipment is functioning optimally, and that our customers receive the highest level of service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and act as a subject matter expert for equipment owners
  • Perform preventative and demand maintenance for Equipment Services equipment and Canadian Blood Services manufacturing equipment
  • Consult and provide subject matter expertise in the acquisition of new equipment
  • Act as a mentor for junior biomedical technologists/technicians
  • Complete documentation ensuring adherence to Canadian Blood Services corporate standards and applicable regulations
Requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of biomedical safety and electrical safety codes and their application
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Effective interpersonal communication, with a willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • A strong understanding of standard operating procedures, service manuals, safety manuals, and manufacturer guidelines
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma is preferred
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Post-secondary level diploma in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferable Biomedical/Clinical Engineering or Healthcare technology
  • Minimum of five years related work experience with preference given to those in the healthcare and technology fields
What You Can Expect
  • Shift/hours - Monday to Friday, business hours
  • Travel requirements - Occasional travel to other Canadian Blood Services sites within Alberta will be required. Occasional interprovincial, overnight travel will be required
  • Physical requirements - this position can require periods of sitting, standing, and walking. As well, it requires that occasionally the incumbent will need to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs

This position must meet the Trustworthiness and Reliability Verification requirements of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and is subject to criminal records and employment verification checks.
