About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Shelter Support Worker at Good Shepherd Centres. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client contact and support services to individuals accessing shelter services
  • Develop and maintain a caseload, working within a client-centred perspective
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a comprehensive and trauma-informed approach to client care
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting a culture of respect and empathy
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a social service-related field or equivalent experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Strong knowledge of social service agencies and community resources
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Valid CPR certification and fluency in a language in addition to English (an asset)
