This role is located in Toronto and reports to the Manager of Safety & Systems Assurance. It involves the engineering tasks necessary to oversee the intricate engineering of systems, sub-systems, and components within a rail transit project, adhering to international standards. This position offers opportunities to cultivate skills and experience in Systems Engineering areas such as Requirements Management, Systems Integration, and Configuration Management.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Deliver high-quality consultancy services to the rail sector in Safety and Assurance.
  2. Execute assurance, certification, and safety activities, aiding rail businesses, governmental bodies, and organizations.
  3. Assist in formulating strategies to expand the Safety and Assurance service portfolio.
  4. Oversee various aspects of assignments, including client relations, estimating, tendering, planning, resource allocation, and execution.
  5. Provide support for System Engineering/V&V/Requirements Management teams in delivering mass transit, urban rail, and heavy freight signaling and control systems.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in rail or safety assurance.
  2. Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation (or eligibility to obtain).
  3. Proven experience in developing and documenting Safety and Assurance arguments throughout the entire asset/project lifecycle.
  4. Familiarity with CENELEC, FTA Handbook for Safety & Security Certification, or MIL-STD-882e is advantageous.
  5. Demonstrated ability to support technical business functions and/or project teams within a design, engineering, engineering-construction, or consultancy context.
