About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled RAMS Specialist to join our team at Alstom Gruppe. As a key member of our safety assurance team, you will be responsible for performing hazard and safety analyses and producing assurance deliverables in accordance with the scope of the project at system level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hazard and safety analyses and produce assurance deliverables in accordance with the scope of the project at system level: Rolling Stock, Signaling, Power Supply, Communications.
  • Apply the applicable Alstom Engineering/RAMS processes & instructions.
Requirements
  • University Degree in Engineering (preferably in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science).
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience within safety engineering.
  • Experience in applying safety techniques and methods (PHA, SHA, IHA, OSHA, FMEA/FMECA, FTA, QRA, HAZID/HAZOP) for system safety in railway industry or equivalent (defence, aircraft, automotive).
  • Good understanding of System Engineering, Safety and RAM standards and processes: AREMA, EN50126, EN 50128, EN50129, ISO15288.
  • Licensed (or eligible) with Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng.).
Qualifications
  • Good knowledge of railway systems and operations - signalling systems, traction power, overhead catenary, rolling stock.
  • Structured and organised with hands-on approach.
  • Knowledge of the rail construction environment and engineering practices.
  • Good analytical skill is required.
  • Open-minded.
  • Problem setting and problem solving.
  • Sense of urgency.
