About the Role

The Triage and Transition team at CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless journey for families beginning their mental health care journey. As a Registered Nurse on this team, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive bio-psycho-social mental health assessments for children and adolescents, providing nursing assessments and plans of care, and liaising with other professionals to promote continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents, identifying their unique needs and developing personalized care plans.
  • Provide high-quality nursing care, including medication administration, teaching, and telephone follow-up, to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to care.
  • Identify opportunities for service delivery improvements and contribute to the development of evidence-informed practice.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with the research department to contribute to critical appraisal, evaluation, and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
  • Member in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.
  • Minimum three years' recent experience in pediatrics and mental health.
  • Strong clinical assessment and evaluation skills.
  • Relevant experience in a child and adolescent mental health treatment setting.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records or similar information systems.
Conditions of Employment
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification.
