Job Title: Carpenter - Full-Time

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at the Burnaby School District. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for a wide range of carpentry work, including new construction, renovation, and maintenance of our school buildings and structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a full range of carpentry work, including new construction, renovation, and maintenance of school buildings and structures.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and district staff to achieve project goals.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all relevant safety regulations and procedures.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems, working independently and as part of a team.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent) and successful completion of the B.C. Apprenticeship Program.
  • Valid BC or Interprovincial Journeyman Carpenter Trades Qualification (TQ) and four years of related work experience as a Journeyman.
  • Demonstrated training and work experience in current BC construction/maintenance safety requirements.
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5) and experience using production line shop joinery equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
