Wind Technician, Pincher Creek

TransAlta is seeking a highly skilled Wind Technician to join their team at the Pincher Creek Asset. As a Wind Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the Cowley North and Summerview 1 wind assets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement operations and maintenance strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead a team of wind technicians and contractors to perform maintenance, service, and repair of wind turbine equipment.
- Monitor and analyze operations performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize results.
- Ensure operational compliance with EHS, NERC, OHS, and other relevant standards.
- Provide technical support and assistance to wind technicians, ensuring all routine and preventative maintenance is performed accurately and on time.
- Support the Supervisor in selecting, developing, and managing a high-performance team of employees and contractors.
- Identify and mitigate risks that could negatively impact business results, and identify opportunities to improve operations.
- Appropriate trade certification in a related discipline with years of related progressive experience.
- Preference for Vestas Wind Turbine (V80) experience of 4 years or more, or related experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within own discipline and knowledge of others.
- Thorough understanding of the operational aspects of the plant - technical, compliance, and financial.
- Plant risk and related mitigation strategies.
- Understanding of site contractual obligations, procurement processes, and vendor qualifications.
- Annual base salary starting at CDN $69,300.00 – $92,000.00, based on qualifications and experience.
