Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Custodian to join our team at the Simcoe County District School Board. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and machinery.
  • Perform heavy physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Follow oral and written instructions, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in the OMERS Pension Plan and adhere to the CUPE Collective Agreement.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical tasks and operate building and custodial equipment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Previous experience in a custodial or maintenance role preferred.
