We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Medicine Emergency physician to join our medical team at Queen's General Hospital (QGH). As a Family Medicine Emergency physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our 24-hour Emergency Department, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Examine patients and take their histories
- Order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consult and refer to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Full-time or part-time
- Locum work available as well
- The Emergency Department is open 24 hours, with 12-hour shifts
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- All applicants must have a current Certification
In addition to providing high-quality patient care, you will have the opportunity to participate in teaching medical students and family practice residents from Dalhousie Medical School.
