Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assurance Partner to join our team in Barrie, Ontario. As a key member of our Business Unit's Management, you will actively contribute to the growth and operational priorities while seamlessly aligning with the Firm's strategy.

Strategic Impact

As a Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Assurance Practice, with a focus on the growth and success of Privately Held Business Groups. You will develop and implement a growth strategy for the Assurance practice in Barrie and Simcoe County that complements, and is supported by, the firmwide strategy.

Client Service Experience

You will join our high-performing practice in a key leadership role, where your expertise will be instrumental in delivering a personalized approach to clients' businesses. You will provide practical advice that is unique to their business, while helping organizations navigate the complexities of their assurance requirements, combined with compilations, NTR, reviews, audit, advisory and tax services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a growth strategy for the Assurance practice in Barrie and Simcoe County.
  • Embrace your entrepreneurial mindset, exercise autonomy, and take charge of running a business.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop the next generation of leaders.
  • Champion the growth, management, and development of our Private Company Practice within the Barrie office and Simcoe County, as an integral part of the broader Southern Ontario Assurance Team.
  • Work closely with a team of professionals to deliver a wide range of business advisory services across Southern Ontario. Providing strategic guidance and support to privately-held business clients on accounting matters, and assisting them in navigating growth within the current business landscape and financial conditions.
  • Actively participate in business development efforts, including working collaboratively with senior leadership, partners, and marketing professionals to target and build relationships with client prospects.

Requirements

  • Completion of Bachelor and/or Master Degree in related field: Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Law, and/or Taxation.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation and public accounting license designation is required. (consideration will be given to having met the requirements to obtain the license upon application).
  • 10+ years of Assurance experience in a Canadian professional services firm, leading and conducting complex accounting and audits.
  • Demonstrated experience growing a practice and business development which focuses on development of relationships and actively anticipating client and market needs.
  • Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to be an active participant in the development of the Assurance team.
  • Develop solutions with clients and co-workers through collaborative effort and discussion.
  • Commitment to quality, excellence, and continual professional growth for yourself and for those you lead.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including exceptional interpersonal skills to earn the trust and confidence of clients and colleagues at all levels and influence decision-makers.
