Job Title: Retail and Admissions Clerk

Fort Henry National Historic Site of Canada is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Retail and Admissions Clerk to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide exceptional customer service and support in our retail and admissions areas. As a Retail and Admissions Clerk, you will be responsible for greeting and assisting guests, providing information about our site and programs, and contributing to the generation of revenues through sales and upselling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide first point of welcome to guests and respond to inquiries
  • Provide travel and tourist information to the public
  • Contribute to the generation of revenues through sales and upselling
  • Operate retail point of sales system and maintain store cleanliness
  • Assist with wedding and special events set-up and teardown as needed
  • Work safely at all times and report unsafe activities immediately to your supervisor
Requirements:
  • Linguistic skills in English and French
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective product information and excellent customer service
  • Ability to sell and upsell admissions, programs, and services
  • Ability to operate a cash register and credit card machine, and handle cash and invoice transactions with accuracy, integrity, and efficiency
  • Ability to work effectively with large volumes of guests during peak periods
  • Ability to wear interpretive clothing, as required
