Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail and Admissions Sales Associate to join our team at Fort Henry National Historic Site of Canada. As a representative of one of Kingston's premium and internationally recognized tourism sites, you will provide exceptional guest experiences and contribute to the generation of revenues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first point of welcome to guests by greeting, responding to inquiries, and providing site information in both English and French.
  • Provide travel and tourist information to the public on Fort Henry National Historic Site and other attractions.
  • Contribute to the generation of revenues by collecting admission fees and upselling specialized products and programs.
  • Make each guest's experience interesting and enjoyable by providing excellent customer service.
  • Operate retail point of sales system, restock store product, and maintain store cleanliness.
  • Assist with wedding and special events set-up and teardown as needed.
  • Work safely at all times and report unsafe activities immediately to your supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Linguistic skills in English and French.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective product information and excellent customer service.
  • Ability to sell and upsell admissions, programs, and services.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate and impart specialized program, admission, merchandise, and regional tourist information.
  • Ability to operate a cash register and credit card machine, and handle cash and invoice transactions with accuracy, integrity, and efficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively with large volumes of guests during peak periods.
  • Ability to wear interpretive clothing, as required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and assume responsibility and exercise initiative while working alone and/or in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn all safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal, visitor, and fellow staff safety is maintained at all times.
