About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Engineer to join our team at the Municipality of North Cowichan. As a key member of our infrastructure planning team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our community's water, sanitary, drainage, and transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement short and long-term plans for water, sanitary, drainage, and transportation infrastructure
  • Support the design and construction of infrastructure projects, including water and sanitary treatment systems
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of water, sanitary, drainage, and transportation assets
  • Conduct servicing assessments for land development applications
  • Manage designated departmental staff and provide guidance on asset management processes
Requirements
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and degree in Engineering
  • Strong technical skills in water, sanitary, drainage, and transportation modeling, as well as asset management processes
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to senior leadership and Council
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
