Position Overview

As a vital member of the management team, the Human Capital Director is responsible for overseeing human resources policies and procedures. This role involves implementing standards for compensation and benefits, as well as developing and supporting team members in various human resources functions, workplace health and safety, ethics, integrity, and volunteer recruitment and management.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Leading and supporting team members in their roles;
  • Conducting research and providing guidance on labor legislation, compensation, and necessary documentation;
  • Acting as the primary advocate for promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity in recruitment, hiring, and management practices for both staff and volunteers;
  • Collaborating with the management team to recruit and onboard employees and volunteers;
  • Guiding directors in utilizing contribution appreciation programs;
  • Ensuring effective communication and integration of activities across all relevant areas;
  • Liaising with external stakeholders regarding various services and programs available to the organization;
  • Implementing transition programs for employees as their contracts conclude;
  • Working efficiently as part of a team while maintaining positive professional relationships.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, or a related field;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role within a relevant field.
